Curriculum

Our program consists of 36 months of training in internal medicine and its various subspecialties - a year by year breakdown is available below:

Intern Year

Inpatient Internal Medicine Service - 4 months
Intensive Care Unit/Critical Care - 2 months
Inpatient Pulmonology - 1 month
Inpatient Cardiology - 1 month
Emergency Medicine - 1 month
Inpatient Infectious Diseases - 1 month
Outpatient Gastroenterology/Nephrology/Endocrinology - 1 month
Geriatrics (Inpatient and Outpatient) - 1 month

Second Year

Inpatient Internal Medicine Service - 3-4 months
Intensive Care Unit/Critical Care - 2 months
Research - 1 month
Ambulatory - 1 month
Electives/Required Speciality Rotations - 3-4 months

Third Year

Inpatient Internal Medicine Service - 2-3 months
Intensive Care Unit/Critical Care - 2 months
Ambulatory - 1 month
Electives/Required Speciality Rotations - 6-7 months

Required speciality rotations include - rheumatology, neurology, nephrology, infectious diseases, cardiology, gastroenterology, endocrinology, hematology/oncology, and pulmonology

Additional optional rotations include - radiology, dermatology, and allergy/immunology
